I write and edit longform reported features, essays, and memoirs. I’m currently a senior editor at The Walrus, a general-interest magazine based in Toronto, where I’ve expanded the roster of contributors to include voices from underrepresented communities and pushed for more international coverage. I’ve edited award-winning and -nominated essays, investigative features, and memoirs. I’ve written stories about toxic workplaces, the meaning of self-defence in international law, burnout in Canada’s health care system, and long-running disputes over hummus, among other topics.
I mentor emerging journalism professionals and volunteer as an awards judge. I’ve hosted panels at events produced by Toronto’s International Festival of Authors, Word on the Street, and the Canadian Association of Journalists. I’ve been a guest speaker at university writing and journalism courses across Canada. I’ve offered writing workshops through organizations such as The Mosaic Institute. I’ve ghost-written memoirs and edited novels. And I’m always open to more collaborations, including writing and editing projects, speaking opportunities, mentorships, and more. If you’ve got a storytelling project in mind, let’s connect.
